That has to be said just right. Preferably you need an apron to wring or failing that a skirt or even a blouse to wring pathetcally, then get exactly the right helpless high-pitched whine as you say "the phrase." Oh, yeah...I have that act down pat.
Young Lobo, I love John Wayne. I wish I could remember some of his best quotes. There were goodies in "Rooster Cogburn" and also in his best "non-western," the Kenyan drama "Hatari."
