Good stuff Hellcat, the one paragraph where Lee tried to plant the seed in Davis' mind that it should be his idea to move closer to Richmond and not Lee's is quite intersting.  Lee did not want to fight at Fredericksburg, he wanted to fight near the North Anna and spring the trap on Burnside he tried on Grant in the summer of '64.  But Davis refused to concede the territory.  The result was the hollow victory at Fredercksburg where the terrain did not allow Lee the opportunity to follow up his victory.
