Hellcat, Appreciate everything, but to be truthful, I already have all that. My problem is that most all of Conger's letters were either destroyed or ended up missing when the family moved to Hawaii in 1917. I've gone through Edward P. Tobie's book on the First Maine Cavalry, which was merged with the First D.C., and found some info on Conger there as well as Samuel Merrill's book which was published earlier, but what I'm hoping to find are letters from other members of the units that might mention Conger. There are several letters and documents on the Third West Virginia in Charleston (which I've also got) but all those are more regimental in nature and not personal. Again, I appreciate your helpfulness. Best Rob
