Well, since I’ve already jumped into the fray, I thought an introduction would be appropriate. I live in western North Carolina. I first became interested in the War in 1982, when I attended my first reenactment. I’ve reenacted ever since, though for the past couple of years, reenacting has taken a back seat to my research and writing. I did serve as colonel, first battalion, Hardy’s brigade for about six years. I am currently on brigade staff. I’ve also volunteered as an interpreter at local, state, and national parks. I started writing about the war in 1997, and am the author of eight books, three directly on the war, along with several articles in Civil War magazines. I mostly write about North Carolinians. I have been writing full time since 2004, and I am currently working on a book about the 58th North Carolina, one of only four North Carolina regiments to serve with the Army of Tennessee.
