Bobby Horton's Christmas CD

Barton & Para's Christmas CD

You know you spend way too much time listening to CW music when you hear "O, Christmas Tree" and start singing along..."John Harrelson, John Harrelson, you are a funny creature"   (talk about getting funny looks)

Merry Chrismas and God Bless Us One and All  :)

You're a Mean One, Mr, Grinch -  that was sung by Thurl Ravenscroft (1914-2005), perhaps best known as the voice of Tony the Tiger, ala Corn Flakes fame.  He did a ton of Disney character voices as well.

Here's just some of my favorite albums:

Early American Christmas (John Mock, 1994) - Tough one to find now, although I did find the sheet music for this album.  Some nice songs, especially if you like guitars and dulcimers, flutes, whistles and string quartets.

Carpenters Christmas Albums - Karen Carpenter is my all-time favorite female voice.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Got interested in this band about four years ago.  I'd recommend the Christmas Trilogy Box Set.  They do a mind-blowing live show every year with the audience consisting of people of all ages - I like that.  They give you heavy duty rock, some R&B, Childrens Choirs, laser lights, fire and snow. Incredible!

December (Moody Blues, 2003) - I'm just an old Moodies fan.  This one was delightfully done.  The little kid on the album cover is the same kid that appears on Long Distance Voyager (1981) album cover.

Have a Merry Cristmas, everyone,

ConnYankee

Well it's not Christmas and it's some time since this was posted, but I saw the thread and it actually made me break out some of my Christmas music so I just had to post. Kinda hard for me to narrow it down, there's quite a few I really love. I guess the top five would be
  1. The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole
  2. White Christmas by Bing Crosby
  3. Snoopy's Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen
  4. Child's Prayer by Chicago (more by the children's choir they got together for their album)
  5. O Tannenbaum by Nat King Cole
Those would be my top five, but I'd have to add a few more
  1. Something that Santa Claus Left Behind by Peter Cetera
  2. One Little Candle by Chicago (again the children's choir)
  3. Silent Night by Nat King Cole/Bing Crosby (there a particular version he does I'm fond of)/Chicago
  4. You Just Gotta Love Christmas by Peter Cetera
  5. Bethlehem by Chicago
  6. Christmas Time Is Here by the Children's Choir for A Charlie Brown Christmas/Chicago
  7. The First Noel by Nat King Cole
  8. Jolly Old St. Nicholas by Chicago
  9. The Hat I Got for Chistmas is Too Big by Mel Blanc
  10. Twas the Night After Christmas by Jeff Foxworthy

My favorite Halloween song is Camille Saint-Saens's Dance Macabre.  A second one I love is A Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky.

My favorite Thanksgiving song is the classic Over the River and through the Woods.

I have several Halloween and Thanksgiving songs. Of course they are ones I taught my kindergarteners and first graders Like Five Little Pumpkins and Five Little Turkeys.

Favorite Thanksgiving song is Alice's Restaraunt . I even have a t shirt with a map of the crime on it . use to wear it at Thanksgiving.

Monster Mash is favorite Halloween songs.

I actually have a folder on my MP3 with stuff I play for Halloween. On it I have:
  • Ghostbusters Ray Parker Jr.
  • Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon
  • Werewolves of London (Live) by Warren Zevon (bit different live as some of the lyrics aren't what folks may be used to, like at one point he sings "Werewolves of Los Angeles" during the first chorus)
  • Abracadabra by The Steve Miller Band
  • Cleanin' Up the Town by Bus Boys
  • Thriller by Micheal Jackson
  • Spooky by The Classics IV
  • Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett
  • I Put a Spell on You by Screamin' Jay Hawkings
  • Witchy Woman by The Eagles
