OUR DUTY CALLS I cry alone in the silent night because in my heart i know this can't be right A soldier leaves his family cries and everyday they pray that nobody dies we need to fight we need to stand tall we need to remember that the towers did fall Most of us pray and hope its enough but what do you do when things start to get rough and prayers won't do when a body falls we have a job to do Our duty calls

HER HUSBAND WAS A SOLDIER In the silence of the night a women gets the call It appears that her husband wont come back this fall without a word she hangs up the phone she has to stay strong she can't leave her kids alone still she cries from her eyes and her heart she doesn't know what to do her whole life is falling apart but when she stops she dries her tears for a moment shes calm then the moment disappears worried and scared she doesn't know what to do now she feels sick like she has the flu but instead of giving in she still puts up a fight and somehow finds a way to make it through the night when morning comes and the kids are awake she tries to find the courage not knowing how long this will take you see her children are but 3 and 5 and she doesn't know how to say that "daddy" is no longer alive she tells them of heaven and how its a nice place to stay and how "daddy's" there now and how we all should pray a week later shes still crying and to be honest i would be to if i had only known the horror that she is going through Her husband was a soldier he fought for us to be free and some of us are to blind to even begin to see Her husband was a soldier he fought for us to be free firemen, cops and "daddy's" they're all hero's to me Her husband was a soldier he fought for US until his end Pray for our hero's because its US that they defend

JUST PRAY ?THE WAR ON IRAQ For those of you want to help our soldiers Get off your lazy ass Stop blaming it all on President Bush Stop letting just one more day pass Our soldiers need help now Not only when your able Let's shuffle the deck Lets turn the tables Now you are a soldier Fighting in Iraq Now you have a family Now you may never come back But now you feel proud Now all that mad To be serving your country and living in Baghdad Back in your reality You'll find it hard to find any one person Who is that proud or kind To stand up and fight Defend it till the death "God bless America" was in there last breath Because they know the truth That freedoms worth the fight Freedom isn't everywhere So defend your right Remember our soldiers And thank them everyday Remember our soldiers And please, just pray

The Rebs in power We seem to cower Our country split They say we'll quit We're still loyal Plans not foiled Union in blue Seem to few Rebs in gray Seen 'cross the plains With all seceded And many defeated Country heed no more For it's the Civil War

Nat Turner’s slave rebellion, The 1850 Compromise, With all things going on, The war was no surprise. Uncle Tom’s Cabin, The Kansas-Nebraska Act, Bleeding Kansas happens, This is a true fact. Scott sues for freedom, Lincoln and Douglas debate, Brown raids a ferry, The war, it still awaits. Lincoln is president, South Carolina secedes, The Civil War awaiting, Finally succeeds. First a battle at Fort Sumter, Then the battle at Bull Run, And the south won, The battle has just begun. Shiloh, Antietam, Yanks win, But at Fredricksburg, The South Wins again. Lincoln delivers, The Emancipation Proclamation, We are trying, To fight for slavery cancellation. Vicksburg, Gettysburg, Turning points in war, Sherman burns down plantations, We took quite a score. Lincoln wins re-election, Charity for all, Too bad the price was, For lots of us to fall. Appomattox Courthouse, Lee surrenders, Yanks win! And rejoice with our tired defenders. John Wilkes Booth, Has Lincoln assassinated, The south was, Quite fascinated. The Civil War is over, Over six hundred thousand lost, The price was over $20 billion, But no slavery was the cost. Yankse won the Civil War, Some rejoice even more, But the blood and tears shed, Will be in dreams forever more.

As I watched the cannon blow I wonder how many days I will have left Till I perish, wounded in fierce combat Or till my new found country rings a bell of freedom. Now I watch a Confederate fall Hit by a bullet And it is taking its toll But forgive me, sir I am not allowed to care at all. Many years later The countries of our world collide It's our side or theirs in a gruesome race To watch their flags fall. Only what is a decade or two later A flame is rekindled Though this one is not so loving and kind They broke their promise This horrible battle is still replaying in my mind. Vietnam was a-rage Not too long ago Yet we aided them Even though it may have hurt us so. Now we come to rest at today Where sniper rifles do not fail to hit their target And dead bodies decay on the abandoned, war-stricken streets Afghanistan and Iraq in union The battle is getting quite intense Hence these battle scars They hurt everywhere They have worn and torn my heart But not just me You, too, share my pain.
