This Tuesday is veteran's day. If you are a veteran...thank you so much. For those of us who are not veterans..take the time to say "thank you' to those that are. We owe them everything. God bless. The Captain

Politicians and media persons may speak of courage but, our veterans, GOD bless them all, are the embodiment of COURAGE! Thank you ladies and gentlemen for defending this, the greatest nation on GOD's earth!

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." Gen. George S. Patton

"It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country in wars far away. THe imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the founding fathers, grave and gray haired. But most of them were boys when they died. They gave up two lives: the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for their country, for us. All we can do is remember." President Ronald Reagan 11/11/85

I always spend a good portion of Veterans Day thinking of my grandfather. He was a miner in places like Cripple Creek, Marble, and Leadville. He left for a time to fight a war in France. He would never talk about it. He hated everything that had to do with war - movies, television shows, everything. I think he felt guilty that he came home, went back to work in the mines and married my grandmother, but so many of his buddies from the mines never came home. I am proud of him and I miss him.
