I attended the recent West Coast Civil War Round Table in Fresno, CA and can report that there is "lots going on regarding the Civil War" on the West Coast. Before going to the conference, several of my friends asked why -- suggesting that there was nothing to be learned on the West Coast. They were wrong. The conference was excellent and there was evidence of much interest and activity regarding the Civil War "way out there!" It was the best such conference I've attended in the past three years! The plans for their conferences in 2010 and 2011 are mentioned on Hal's site.
